teachable march product update teachable march product update

Over three days, 40 speakers shared what they know on financial education, engaging communities, freelancing, and more at our Women Create 2021 summit. We can’t wait to see the ripple effects of how the knowledge and content shared this last month will spur the next generation of creators. So let’s dive into the March 2021 product update from Teachable.

What’s new at Teachable?

Course design templates

Course design templates give you access to three different design templates—Classic, Simple, and Colossal. These templates each change the look and feel of your course overview page.

The course overview page (often referred to as the enrolled view or curriculum view) is the first page your student lands on when they enroll in your course. This is where they’ll find key elements of the course: course curriculum, course progress bar, course author, and the course image. The three templates have different design layouts to display these elements. This gives you more options to customize how your students interact with your content.

For more information about each of the templates and the best use case for each, check out our deep dive on the new course design templates. For additional support on how to use the feature, here’s the Knowledge Base article.

Lead forms

Also landing in the March 2021 product update is Lead forms. You can now add a Lead form on any page you create with the 2.0 editor. This block allows you to build your audience as you work on creating your content. You can use it to get your audience to subscribe to your communications, create a waiting list for a course, and gauge interest levels for different topics you have.

All emails submitted via the Lead form on your page will be accessible under the Users > Leads table. In addition, you’ll be able to create email marketing campaigns with our native integration with Mailchimp, ConvertKit, or with any other email service provider via Zapier.

Updates and other fixes

  • Coaching file uploads size: We have increased the max file size from 25MB to 2GB so you and your coaching clients can both upload bigger files to share with each other.
  • Multiple course sale page limit: We have increased the number of sales pages per course from 10 pages to 25 pages. This will allow creators to run more experiments for their course sales pages and personalize each for specific audiences.
  • FB pixel domain verification on checkout pages: Schools with custom domains who verify their domain through Facebook will now be able to track analytics on Teachable checkout pages with iOS users. This is a fix in response to recent privacy updates for iOS users.
  • Lecture player reskin: We have released visual improvements to the lecture player for all templates. This includes updated buttons, icons, typography, and spacing.
  • New course icons: We’ve updated various icons that appear across your course. This includes those next to each lecture and those next to each course tabs on the course overview page.
  • Featured products block: The featured products block on editor 2.0 now allows you to display and showcase both courses and coaching products in the same block. Previously, if you wanted to showcase courses and coaching, you’d need to use two different ones.
